Nepali Congress registers 5 direct and 8 proportional candidates in Kailali-1
Tikapur: Nepali Congress in Kailali Constituency No. 1 has completed the registration of aspiring candidates for the upcoming elections, covering the House of Representatives (direct and proportional) and the National Assembly.
Five individuals have registered in the direct category: Congress central member Ram Janam Chaudhary, Dr. Ran Bahadur Rawal, Ishwari Neupane, Sudurpaschim Province Committee Vice President Janak Raj Chaudhary, and Buddhisagar Chaudhary.
Eight candidates have registered in the proportional category, including Bir Bahadur Hamal, Dhijraj Regmi, Umadevi Badi, Akbar Ali Qureshi, Rajesh Kumar Tamatta, Birkha Rawal, Keshari Rawal Bista, and Sushila Swar.
For the National Assembly, Fakir Singh Kadayat and Nrip Khadka have submitted their candidacies. The election for the National Assembly is scheduled for Magh 11, according to the commission.
Dhananjay Rimal, Nepali Congress Secretary of Kailali-1, stated that the names were collected following instructions from the central committee, which has requested the recommendation of three candidates, including one woman.
Rimal added that preparations are underway to hold a meeting of the regional working committee to discuss the registered names. Recommendations will be made based on consensus, and if no consensus is reached, all names will be forwarded to the district working committee.
