NCP Dadeldhura recommends candidates for house of representatives election
Dhangadhi: The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Dadeldhura has recommended candidates for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. A meeting of party leaders finalized the names of interested candidates for both direct and proportional representation.
According to NCP leader Umesh Prasad Bhatta, four names have been unanimously recommended for direct representation. Niradevi Jairu has been recommended under the women’s category, Mansingh Mal ‘Kranti’ and Anil Bohara under the open category, and Mukunda Bhatta under the Gen-z category.
Dadeldhura has only one House of Representatives constituency. The Nepali Congress has already unanimously recommended party president Sher Bahadur Deuba as its candidate from the constituency. Deuba has remained undefeated in federal elections since 2048 BS. However, the name of his former rival, NCP leader Khagraj Bhatta, was not recommended this time. Bhatta stated that the party’s central leadership had instructed not to recommend individuals currently serving in local, provincial, or national assemblies. Khagraj Bhatta is presently a member of the provincial assembly.
In addition, NCP Dadeldhura has recommended 10 individuals for proportional representation. The recommended names include Ahilya Kunwar, Shakuntala Nagarkoti, Nar Bahadur Bista, Tek Bahadur Bhandari, Nandadevi Bhatta, Laxmi Kami, Birendra Malla, Jayanti Budhaair, Narbhan Parki, and Dharma Luhar.
