Alumni establish collective endowment fund at Dasharath Chand Secondary School

Baitadi: Dasharath Chand Secondary School in Sundarkhali, Dasharath Chand Municipality-5, Baitadi, has established a collective endowment fund on the initiative of its alumni from the 2067 BS batch.

According to Principal Narendra Bahadur Chand, the fund, currently valued at Rs 1,20,105, was created with the active participation of seventeen alumni. The initiative was led by the alumni society under the leadership of Parbati Chand, chairperson of the school’s management committee, and the alumni have committed to increasing the fund annually.

Scholarships from the endowment fund will be provided to underprivileged, Dalit, and meritorious students, supporting those facing financial difficulties in continuing their studies. The school formally informed the school community and parents about the fund during its 79th anniversary celebration on Tuesday.

During the anniversary, former student Deepak Nath, resident of Sankatte, Dasharathchand Municipality-6, distributed sweaters as school uniforms to underprivileged students up to grade five, further supporting the students’ education, according to Principal Chand.

Notable contributions to the endowment fund include Bipin Rawal, Rs 27,480; Girish Chand, Rs 10,000; Yogendra Saund, Rs 10,010; Jagdish Chand, Rs 8,000; Rohit Tamrakar, Rs 8,000; Sirjana Bam, Rs 8,000; Harish Chand, Rs 7,500; Keshav Rawal, Rs 5,555; Pankaj Bhatta, Rs 5,555; Akash Rawal, Rs 5,000; Ashok Bhatta, Rs 5,000; Premraj Bhatta, Rs 5,005; Jyoti Bohara, Rs 3,000; Prakash Nath, Rs 3,000; Sudip Chand, Rs 3,000; Rajendra Chand, Rs 3,000; and Prakash Chand Thakuri, Rs 3,000.

The school expects that the endowment fund will provide long-term financial support to students and strengthen educational opportunities in the community.
