UML unanimously recommends Bhandari and Thagunna for House of Representatives

Baitadi: The CPN-UML in Baitadi and Darchula has officially recommended candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21. Damodar Bhandari has been recommended from Baitadi, while Ganesh Singh Thagunna has been recommended from Darchula.

Bhandari, a central member of the CPN-UML, is a former member of the dissolved House of Representatives and previously served as Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies before the government was dissolved following the Gen-G movement. He has won the last three elections, including the 2079 BS election where he defeated Narendra Kunwar of the then Maoist Center, the 2074 BS House of Representatives election, and the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly election.

Thagunna, also a central UML member and former minister, was unanimously recommended by the UML District Committee meeting in Darchula. He had previously won from Darchula in the 2070 BS Constituent Assembly and the 2074 BS House of Representatives elections, but was defeated by Dilendra Prasad Badu of the Nepali Congress in the 2079 BS election.
