Dhangadhi: Elections are set to be held for two vacant National Assembly seats in the Far-Western region, including one female and one open seat. While the Congress and UML have formed an electoral alliance for the polls, the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has decided to register separate candidacies in the region.

Unable to reach an agreement with the Congress and UML, the NCP has filed its own candidates for both vacant seats. Rosi Basnet Sunar will contest the female seat, while Tikaram Jaishi will run for the male seat.

From the Congress-UML alliance, the Congress has nominated Khamb Khati, and the UML has nominated Lila Bhandari. Although a four-party alliance involving Congress, UML, NCP, and JSP exists at the central level, no such agreement was reached in the Far-West when the candidates were registered.
