Kathmandu: The government has resumed issuing work permits for foreign employment in Israel, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon. The Department of Foreign Employment issued a notice today informing that work permits for these four countries have been reopened.

Earlier, due to rising tensions in the Middle East following attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, the government had suspended both individual and institutional work permits for several Middle Eastern countries since February 17.

As the situation in the region gradually stabilized, work permits for Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, and Turkey had already been reopened earlier.

The Department of Foreign Employment has now stated that the remaining suspended destinations—Israel, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Lebanon—have been regularized from today.
