Over 22,000 children in Baitadi to receive vitamin A capsules

Baitadi: Under the National Vitamin A Program, children in Baitadi district will be provided vitamin A capsules and deworming medicine on April 20 and 21.

According to Tirtharaj Bhatta, Chief of the Health Office, Baitadi, a total of 22,757 children aged 6 to 59 months across the district will be given vitamin A capsules. In addition, 20,483 children aged 12 to 59 months will be administered deworming medicine.

The Health Office has stated that 831 female health volunteers have been mobilized across the district to ensure the program is effective and successful.

The program, aimed at reducing malnutrition and increasing immunity among children, is regarded as an important public health campaign by health workers. Parents have been urged to take their children to the nearest distribution centers to receive the capsules and medicine.
