Dhangadhi: The Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed serious concern over what it described as inhumane treatment and excessive use of force against citizens during the removal of encroachments along the road in Ward No. 4 of Godavari Municipality under the Bhimdatta Highway.

In a press release issued by association president Pushkar Raj Ojha, the chamber clarified that it fully supports the removal of illegal encroachments in forest areas in accordance with rules, laws, and established procedures. However, it stated that any irresponsible actions against the general public by employees of concerned bodies in the name of encroachment removal will not be acceptable under any circumstances.

According to the statement, the tempo belonging to Dhana Devi Dhami, who has been earning a livelihood by running a grocery business using an old tempo in the area, was thrown off a cliff by forest employees. The association strongly condemned what it called inhumane and irresponsible conduct in connection with the incident, stating that such actions raise serious questions about the values of the rule of law, human rights, and responsible public service.

The Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry has demanded an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident, strict legal action against those found guilty, and assurance of justice for the victim.

The association has also urged all concerned bodies to fulfill their responsibilities while respecting the law, human rights, and civil dignity.
