Oli, Prachanda, Khanal and Nepal to share stage at national symposium
Kathmandu: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ are set to appear together at a public event today. Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to attend as the chief guest at the program organized by the Madan Bhandari Foundation on the occasion of the 75th birth anniversary of Jana Neta Madan Bhandari.
Along with Oli and Prachanda, other prominent communist leaders will also participate in the national symposium on “Nepal's Communist Movement and Jana Neta Madan Bhandari,” to be held at the National Assembly on Asad 14. Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, and Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav are also scheduled to address the event.
The symposium is being viewed as significant, as major communist leaders from different political streams have recently been appearing together on the same stage. The program will feature top leaders focusing on Madan Bhandari’s political ideology, contributions, and his role in the communist movement.
Earlier, at a program organized in Biratnagar on July 12, Prachanda had hinted at the possibility of “soon unity with forces in the socialist front and cooperation with the UML.” Following that statement, today’s event is being closely watched in political circles.
