Dhangadhi: Prolonged lack of rainfall has led to a water shortage in various areas of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, with local residents facing difficulties in meeting daily water needs after taps and fountains dried up.

In response to the situation, the sub-metropolitan city has mobilized available resources to distribute water to affected areas.

Although the sub-metropolitan city does not have a dedicated water tanker, it has been supplying water not only for drinking but also for other essential uses by utilizing old fire engines, road-washing vehicles, and tanks used for watering plants.

In Ward No. 6’s Jali area, water has been distributed at a chowk near Jali Deuba Shop in coordination with Ward Chairperson Bhagiram Chaudhary.

Similarly, in the Fulbari-Sayule Bazaar area of Ward No. 14, water has been provided at Sayule Bazaar Chowk to address shortages.

The sub-metropolitan city also stated that water was distributed to Simal Tole after issues were observed in the camp areas of Wards No. 7 and 12, in coordination with Ward Chairpersons Moti Rana and Sher Bahadur Mahara.

According to the sub-metropolitan city, efforts have been made to provide relief by distributing water to Wards No. 6, 7, 12, and 14 based on immediate needs. Preparations have also been made to continue water distribution as required until the rainfall resumes.
