Three missing women in Kanchanpur make contact, request rescue from forest

Dhangadhi: Three women from Beldandi Rural Municipality-3, Chaunni, Kanchanpur, who had gone missing while searching for mushrooms, have established contact with their families.

According to police, Laxmi Thapa Magar, Manju Chhetri and Sita Chaudhary, who went to collect mushrooms in the Shuklaphanta National Park area on Sunday, made contact at around 6:45 am on Monday. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, confirmed that they had been reached.

Police said the women called home and informed that they were safe and sitting on a tree inside the forest. They reportedly asked their families to come and pick them up.

Meanwhile, police stated that 14 women from Bhimdatta Municipality-19, Bagphanta, are still missing.
