Nine injured in jeep accident on Kuwadi-Qudi road section of Bajura

Dhangadhi: Nine people, including the driver, were injured in a jeep accident on Monday afternoon along the Kuwadi-Qudi inner unpaved road section in Himali Rural Municipality-5, Qudi of Bajura.

According to police, the jeep (S.P.P.R.01-001 Ja 1878) traveling from Dhulachaur towards Dudhila Khola fell about 10 meters from the upper bend of the road at around 1:25 pm. After locals informed the District Police Office, Bajura, at around 1:35 pm, a police team from the Temporary Police Post Kuwadi and the Area Police Office Budhinanda was immediately deployed to the accident site.

The police team reached the scene at around 2:30 pm and found that the jeep was being driven by Janabir Budha, around 25 years old, a resident of Natikhola in Himali Rural Municipality-2.

Police said nine people, including the driver, were injured in the accident. Among them, driver Janabir Budha, 40-year-old Dharmalal Budha, 31-year-old Mijra Budha, and around 40-year-old Ammar Singh Budha of Tajakot Rural Municipality-5, Humla, are in moderate condition.

Similarly, Asmita Thapa, 20, Jang Singh Budha, 28, Gorakh Rokaya, 20, Lokendra Budha, 20, and an approximately 9-year-old child from Tajakot-5, Humla, are in normal condition. Police stated that they have sustained injuries to various parts of their bodies.

Police have stated that arrangements are being made to send all the injured to the hospital for treatment. Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
