Two arrested with Heroin on Nepal-India border

Dhangadhi: Two people were arrested with brown sugar during a check conducted on Wednesday as part of a drug smuggling control campaign on the India-Nepal border in the Gaurifanta area of ​​Khiri district in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Under the direction of District Police Chief Dr. Khyati Garg, and under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (West) and Area Officer Paliya, a joint team of Gaurifanta police and 39th SSB took them into custody while checking a scooty in the Digania Banakati forest area along the Gaurifanta-Chandanchauki road.

The arrested persons are Karan Bahadur Gurung, 22, of Godavari Municipality-8, Kailali, and a 16-year-old boy from Kailali.

A total of 8.58 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the scooty they were using, Sudurpaschim Province 01-013 Pa 8975, according to the Indian police.

Police recovered 2.66 grams of brown sugar from Karan Bahadur Gurung, 2.43 grams from another boy, and an additional 3.49 grams from a toolkit inside the trunk of the scooter.

Police said that a drug-related case has been registered at the Gaurifanta Police Station following the incident and further investigation is underway. A joint team of Gaurifanta Police and 39th SSB participated in the arrest operation.
