Goods worth nearly Rs 900,000 seized in Kailali

Dhangadhi: Police have seized goods worth nearly Rs 900,000 from Kailali.

A police team deployed from the District Police Office, Kailali, seized four motorcycles worth an estimated Rs 850,000 from Manehara Jungle in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-7 on Sunday. The motorcycles were found to have been imported into Nepal through customs fraud. According to the police, the seized motorcycles have been handed over to the Kailali Customs Office, Trinagar, for necessary action.

Similarly, goods worth an estimated Rs 40,950 that were illegally imported from India by evading customs have also been seized from various locations. The police team recovered 50 bundles of bidis, dhotis, turmeric sets, underpants, sugar, chillies and other unmarked goods during the operation.
