Illegal goods smuggled from India seized in Kailali and Kanchanpur

Dhangadhi: Police have seized goods smuggled from India through customs evasion in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts of the Far West.

In Bhajani Municipality-3, Kailali, a police patrol team from the Area Police Office Bhajani recovered bidis, tobacco, and other items worth an estimated Rs. 50,795 at Kanda Pul on Saturday evening. The goods were found abandoned and were taken into custody following legal procedures.

Similarly, in Kanchanpur, police recovered illegal boilers, chicken, fish, clothes, and other items worth approximately Rs. 1,52,000 from various locations. The operation was carried out by a team from the District Police Office Kanchanpur and its subordinate offices, with the goods found in an abandoned state and seized under proper legal procedures.

Authorities stated that the process of handing over the seized goods to the relevant agencies has been initiated, and further investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
