Free burn treatment camp launched at Seti provincial hospital
Dhangadhi: The ‘Nabil Free Burn Treatment Camp’ has been inaugurated at Seti Provincial Hospital, jointly organized by Nabil Bank, Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, and Seti Provincial Hospital.
The camp, scheduled from Falgun 2 to 4, aims to provide consultation, treatment, and necessary surgery to economically disadvantaged citizens suffering from long-term burn-related problems. Hospital Manager Ved Prakash Joshi stated that patients who have sustained burns resulting in shrunken or immobile body parts, hair loss, fused fingers, multiple finger attachments, injuries from explosions, or inward-turned soles of the feet will receive free treatment. Patients with complex conditions will be referred to Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital in Sankhu, Kathmandu, for advanced care at no cost.
The initiative, conducted under Nabil Bank’s corporate social responsibility program, is expected to benefit over 120 individuals in Dhangadhi. The bank plans to organize similar camps in other provinces and is collaborating with FECT Nepal (under Kirtipur Hospital) and Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital for its execution.
According to government statistics, Nepal records approximately 56,000 burn-related incidents annually, resulting in an average of 2,100 deaths.
