Oman sets 306-run target for Nepal in ICC world cup cricket league-2 match

Kathmandu: Oman has set Nepal a challenging target of 306 runs for victory in today’s match under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first at the Tribhuvan University Ground in Kirtipur, Oman scored 305 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. The highlight of Oman’s innings was captain Jatinder Singh, who played a brilliant century of 130 runs off 96 balls in an aggressive style, hitting 15 fours and 5 sixes. His innings helped place the team in a strong position and laid the foundation for a big total.

In the middle order, Ramanandi contributed 43 runs while Aryan Bista added 35 runs. Similarly, Hamad Mirza scored 30 runs and Ashish Odedara made 23 runs. In the final overs, Vinayak Shukla scored 23 runs, while Wasim Ali remained unbeaten on 12 runs.

Nepal’s bowlers initially tried to apply pressure, but Oman’s batting unit dominated the middle overs. For Nepal, Sompal Kami took 4 wickets for 59 runs in 9 overs. Likewise, Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target of 306 runs, Nepal has now begun its innings.

This is Nepal’s second match in the ODI series involving Nepal, UAE, and Oman. Nepal had defeated UAE in its first match earlier.
