Rickshaw driver from Bajhang critically injured in tree fall at Gaurifanta

Dhangadhi: A Nepali rickshaw driver has been seriously injured after a tree fell in Gaurifanta. According to police, 22-year-old Roshan Bhatt of Bitthadchir Rural Municipality-7, Bajhang, sustained critical injuries when a dry sal tree collapsed near a canteen in Gaurifanta at around 8 am on Saturday.

Bhatt had reached the border crossing area in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve with an autorickshaw to pick up passengers when the incident occurred, the District Police Office Kailali said. He had been staying in a tent in Dhangadhi-4.

He is currently undergoing treatment at Maya Metro Hospital. Police said he has suffered severe injuries to his head, neck and spine and is being treated in the ICU. The hospital has stated that the injury has affected movement in the lower part of his body.
