Tiger population in Shuklaphanta National Park rises to 50

Dhangadhi: The population of rare black-backed tigers has increased significantly in Shuklaphanta National Park of Sudurpaschim Province. According to the National Tiger Survey-2082, the number of tigers in the park has reached 50.

The results of the tiger survey conducted across Nepal were made public by the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation on the occasion of World Tiger Day.

According to Purushottam Wagle, information officer of Shuklaphanta National Park, the park has gained 14 more tigers in the past four years. In the previous survey, the number of tigers in the park was recorded at 36.
