Dhangadhi: A disagreement over the price of a cap at Supriya Store in Attariya escalated into a physical altercation and drew police attention on Tuesday evening.

Milan Bista of Lalpur, Godavari Municipality-6, Kailali, had visited the store to purchase a cap priced at Rs 380 but paid only Rs 280 via online banking. The dispute over the remaining Rs 100 reportedly led to an argument that turned into a fight. Bista stated that the store owner verbally abused him when he attempted to pay the additional amount. “I was ready to pay the extra Rs 100, but they abused me. I asked for my money back and refused to pay. Four or five boys surrounded me, and one hit me. The CCTV likely captured the incident, and the store called the police,” he said.

Rana Bahadur Chand, Chief of the Area Police Office, Malakheti, confirmed that the fight had reached the police. He explained that the argument began after Bista, who had reportedly been drinking, questioned the price. Chand also noted that the police had deleted a video of the incident.

Police reported that they were called to the Area Police Office a second time after Bista had uploaded the video to TikTok before deleting it. Bista alleged that the police had taken Rs 500 from Supriya Store and forced the video’s deletion. The Area Police Office stated that the video was deleted by mutual agreement.

Bista expressed dissatisfaction with the police treatment, saying, “The police have treated me badly. They threatened to jail me and made me sign a settlement agreement. They continue to call me.”
