22-Feet tall Shiva statue installed at Khodpe Shivalaya in Baitadi

Baitadi: A 22-feet tall statue of Lord Shiva has been erected at Khodpe Shivalaya in Patan Municipality-8, Baitadi. The ward office contributed Rs 340,000 toward the construction, while the total cost of the statue amounted to Rs 600,000.

Ward No. 8 Chairman Harish Bista stated that the remaining funds will be raised through donations from devotees. Khodpe Shivalaya is a significant religious site for locals and hosts a large fair every year during Mahashivaratri.

To ensure the fair is dignified and well-organized, the venue has been declared an alcohol-free zone. Ward Chairman Bista added that anyone found selling or consuming alcohol at the fair will be fined Rs 3,000.
