Five-member committee formed to investigate Kailali prisoner escape case, constable suspended

Dhangadhi: A five-member investigation committee has been formed to probe the escape of a prisoner in a drug case from the custody of the Area Police Office, Tikapur, Kailali.

The committee has been formed under the coordination of DSP Yogendra Timilsina to investigate the incident.

Sanjay Nagarji, who was arrested in a drug-related case, escaped from police custody on Sunday night. Following the incident, police constable Lali Bhandari, who was on duty at the time, has been suspended, according to police.

Police said that the search operation for absconding prisoner Sanjay Nagarji has been intensified. The investigation committee will study the incident and submit a report on whether there was any negligence or weakness involved.
