140 People from Sudurpaschim Still Missing After Rasuwa Flood

Dhangadhi: As many as 140 people from Sudurpaschim Province remain missing following the flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

According to the Provincial Police Office, 176 people from Sudurpaschim Province were initially reported missing after the flood. Of them, 36 have since been contacted by their families and police.

Provincial Police Office spokesperson Senior Superintendent of Police Padam Bahadur Bista confirmed that 36 of the 176 missing people have been contacted.

“176 people were reported missing. Of them, 36 have been contacted,” SSP Bista said.

The Provincial Police said coordination is underway with concerned agencies for the search and rescue of the 140 people who remain missing. Further details regarding the condition of Sudurpaschim citizens in the flood-affected areas and ongoing search operations are being collected.
