Deuba Faction Intensifies Kailali Preparations for Nepali Congress 15th General Convention

Dhangadhi: The Nepali Congress faction led by Sher Bahadur Deuba has intensified preparations in Kailali for the upcoming 15th General Convention.

During a press conference held in Dhangadhi on Monday, the Deuba faction announced that necessary preparations for conventions ranging from the ward level to the regional and district levels are well underway.

Speaking at the press conference, Nepali Congress Central Member Nripa Bahadur Wad stated that coordinators have already been appointed and assigned responsibilities for the elections at the regional and district levels. He added that responsibilities have also been allocated at the ward, rural municipality, and municipality levels.

He outlined plans to commence ward-level conventions on Ashwin 15 (October 1) and subsequently complete conventions at higher levels, aiming to successfully host a grand 15th General Convention.

Wad asserted that the working committee led by President Sher Bahadur Deuba, elected during the 14th General Convention, holds the authority to conduct the 15th General Convention. He emphasized that the defection of an individual or a group to another faction should not be interpreted as the entire Nepali Congress party shifting allegiance.

“One should not assume that the entire Congress party has moved just because an individual switches sides,” Wad said. “We are the official Congress.”

The press conference was attended by leaders including National Assembly member and Nepali Congress Kailali President Narayan Datta Bhatta. They affirmed their commitment to advancing the convention process in accordance with the party’s statute.
