Dashain Greetings Exchange and Traditional Swing Inauguration Held at Dhangadhi’s Shivapuri Dham

Dhangadhi: A Dashain gathering and greetings exchange program was held at Shivapuri Uttar-Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga Dham in Uttarbehadi, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-4, Kailali, alongside the inauguration of a traditional swing.

The event was organized to mark the Hindu festival of Vijaya Dashami, with the aim of preserving religious and cultural traditions and promoting social harmony and mutual unity. Held in collaboration with the Ward Office of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3, the program was attended by local residents, Dham officials, and representatives of the Shivapuri Forest Committee.

Buddhi Khadka, ward chairperson of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-4 and the chief guest, inaugurated the swing. Following the inauguration, he said festivals play a vital role in maintaining harmony, brotherhood, and social unity. Emphasizing the importance of preserving Hindu religious and cultural traditions, he also urged the community to remain vigilant against criminal activities, including murder and violence.

Organizers said the swing had been installed at the Dham to preserve the tradition of swinging during Dashain. Dan Singh Dhami, acting chairperson of the Dham, said the tradition, enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly, should continue. He also highlighted the religious and social belief that people should leave the ground and ride a swing at least once during the Dashain festival.

Dhami expressed concern over declining interest in religion and culture in recent times. Stressing the need to instill a sense of responsibility for preserving religious and cultural values among the younger generation, he urged everyone to maintain respect for senior citizens and elders.

Participants gathered to meet one another and exchange Dashain greetings and best wishes. Organizers said such events not only strengthen community bonds but also help pass religious and cultural traditions on to the next generation.

Shivapuri Uttar-Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga Dham extended its Vijaya Dashami greetings to all Nepali brothers and sisters, both at home and abroad, wishing them happiness, peace, prosperity, advancement, and progress.
