Government extends term of study committee on security mechanism by 45 days

Kathmandu: The government has decided to extend the term of the study committee formed to recommend a study on the security mechanism mentioned in the report submitted by the commission formed to investigate the incidents that took place during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 by 45 days.

Minister for Education and Sports and government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel informed that the decision was taken at today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The meeting has also decided to appoint Balabhadra Bastola (Kaski) as the chairperson of the Land Problem Resolution Committee. It is reported that Amir Prasad Neupane (Kathmandu), Padmini Soti (Lamjung), and Dr. Rehana Shrestha (Kathmandu) have been appointed as members of the committee.

The government has further decided to approve the agreement on the implementation of the Motor Protocol on the management and reduction of substances that deplete the ozone layer from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The meeting has also decided to promote Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Anjani Kumar Pokharel to the post of Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force.
