'Ramaroshan Sky Run-2026' to be held in Achham on Asad 3
Dhangadhi: The Nepal Adventure Running Federation is set to organize the “Ramaroshan Sky Run-2026” in Achham, a major tourist destination of Sudurpaschim Province, on Asad 3.
The main objective of the Sky Run, organized in collaboration with the Sudurpaschim Province Sports Council, the Ministry of Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province, Ramaroshan Rural Municipality, and Sanfebagar Municipality, is to promote the natural beauty, adventure sports, tourism, and local culture of Sudurpaschim at national and international levels, according to the federation.
The competition will take place across the mountainous lakes, vast plains, dense forests, and scenic mountain ranges of the Ramaroshan region, known as “Bahra Band Athar Khand,” spanning altitudes from 2,050 meters to 3,850 meters above sea level. Organizers expect the event to help establish Nepal as an international sky running destination.
The 28-kilometer Sky Running Challenge will feature open categories for both men and women. In addition, a five-kilometer community race has been organized for participants under 20 years of age to encourage local youth participation. The organizers stated that 100 athletes will take part in the competition.
The winner, runner-up, and third-place finisher in the open category will receive prize amounts of Rs 175,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively from a total prize pool of Rs 752,000.
Winners of other categories will also be awarded attractive prizes, Federation President Ekendra Kunwar informed during a press conference held on Tuesday.
