Monsoon fully spreads across Nepal, meteorological department urges caution
Kathmandu: With the effect of monsoon winds becoming active across Nepal, this year's monsoon has fully spread across the country.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the monsoon winds have reached the western border of the country. Today, the monsoon has spread across the country with the monsoon extending to the remaining areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces as well as the entire areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
In Nepal, the monsoon usually enters from the eastern region from June 13 and spreads across the country within about a week. However, this year, the monsoon entered from the eastern region on Asad 5 (June 19), 6 days later than the average date.
The division has urged the general public to get information on the updated weather forecast and take necessary precautions, keeping in mind the risks due to rain as the monsoon has become active.
