Tribeni Municipality distributes relief to flood and landslide victims in Bajura

Bajura: Tribeni Municipality of Bajura has begun distributing relief to families affected by floods and landslides.

One person was killed, two were injured and two houses were completely damaged after a landslide occurred in Tamsu, Tribeni Municipality-9, on the night of July 11 due to incessant rainfall. The municipality is coordinating with government and non-governmental organizations in the district to provide relief to affected families through a one-stop system.

Tribeni Municipality said it is currently coordinating with concerned organizations to provide tents and food items to the families of Karna Thapa and Dharma Thapa, whose houses were completely damaged by the landslide on the night of July 11, as well as other vulnerable families.

According to Tribeni Municipality Deputy Mayor Kamala Neupan, villages and settlements including Bagapanta, Tamsu, Dhadali and Pantali are currently at high risk of floods and landslides.

The villages of Saud, Mijar and Sarki were also at high risk of landslides following floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall on the morning of Ashad 16. The Tamsu settlement again faced risk on Shrawan 17.

Due to continuous rainfall during the monsoon season, many villages in the area remain at risk of floods and landslides.
