Narbahadur Saud , Madan Puraskar awardee has been in a wheelchair for the past twenty seven years. He studied agriculture in Rampur and Himachal Pradesh, India and was entitled to a government job in Nepal when the mishap took place. Twenty-seven years back, while traveling from Butwol, the driver halted for dinner and secretly drank which led to them to meet with an unfortunate accident which injured his spinal cord. He was being treated at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi. But the accident had affected him majorly and the medical treatment available wasn’t advance enough to cure him at that time. He quit his job due to the lack of confidence in himself, though he was never forced to quit. The workplace even offered to provide him with his monthly salary, but, he still quit. He had to further go through turmoils as his wife left him and his brother passed away. His brother helped him with the field work while he was writing his first book. So his brother passing away was difficult on him. Before he was awarded the Madan Puraskar, the public mocked him and his ability constantly. After the award, the public finally started to change their views and started to treat him with respect that he deserved.
