Case filed against six hotel operators in Dhangadhi over allegations of immoral activities

Dhangadhi: Police have filed a case against six hotel operators in Dhangadhi on charges of engaging in immoral activities under the guise of operating hotels. Acting on information received on Friday, the District Police Office carried out raids on hotels in various locations of Dhangadhi and took 30 people into custody.

Among those detained, hotel employees and customers have been released after necessary interrogation, while cases of human trafficking and indecent behavior have been filed against the hotel operators, according to police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Timilsina, acting chief of the District Police Office, stated that cases of human trafficking have been filed against hotel operators based on complaints, while cases of indecent behavior have been filed against those without complaints.

Based on information regarding immoral activities, raids were conducted at hotels in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-1, 3, 7, and 8. During the operation, 30 individuals, including 17 women and 13 men, were arrested on charges of engaging in and facilitating immoral activities, police said.

According to police, seven people were arrested from Black Stone Cottage, four from Samjhana Hotel, five from A.M. & A Hotel, five from Prince Hotel, six from Karnali Hotel, and three from Everest Hotel.

Police further stated that cases have been filed against the operators of all these hotels and investigations are ongoing. The operators of five hotels are currently under police control, while the operator of Black Stone Cottage is absconding. Search efforts to locate the absconding operator are ongoing.
