11 Convicted Absconders Arrested in Kailali

Dhangadhi: Eleven individuals who had been absconding after being convicted in various cases by the Kailali District Court have been arrested.

Those arrested include Shyam Bahadur Chaudhary, 32, of Lamkichuha Municipality-10, who was sentenced to six months in prison and fined Rs 30,000 in a fraud case; Raj Bahadur Thapa of Lamkichuha Municipality-1, who was sentenced to one day in prison and fined Rs 1,510 in a banking offense case; Keshav Raj Jaishi of Lamkichuha Municipality-1, who was sentenced to two months in prison and fined Rs 2,000 in a check dishonor case; and Khem Bahadur Chaudhary of Lamkichuha Municipality-10, who was sentenced to five months and 15 days in prison in a writing offense case.

Similarly, Jayaram Dagoura, 50, Padam Dagoura, 44, Lahanu Dagoura, 45, and Baburam Dagoura, 54, all residents of Gaunia, Bhajani Tikapur Municipality-1, were sentenced to one year in prison and fined Rs 15,000 each in the same case related to boxing.

Police deployed from offices under the District Police Office, Kailali, said the eleven individuals, who had been absconding after being sentenced to imprisonment and fines by the Kailali District Court on different dates, were arrested on Monday.
