Sudurpaschim Should Prosper Through Private Sector Investment: CM Bhatta

Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Khagraj Bhatta has said that the province should be developed into a prosperous province through clear policies of the provincial government and investment from the private sector.

Speaking at a budget-related interaction between the private sector and the provincial government held today, Chief Minister Bhatta said the provincial government would prioritize industrial development and job creation in the upcoming budget.

He said the province’s ‘Red Book’ should not be a mechanism for distributing money but should serve as a roadmap for the prosperity of Sudurpaschim. “The budget should be able to address the needs, potential and expectations of the province. For that, our efforts will be made in this budget,” he said.

Chief Minister Bhatta said the government would move firmly to control irregularities in the province by adopting a zero-tolerance policy on good governance. Making it clear that there would be no compromise on irregularities, he stressed that all parties should be serious and move forward unitedly for the development and transformation of Sudurpaschim.

Expressing the provincial government’s commitment to taking necessary initiatives to resolve problems faced by the private sector, Chief Minister Bhatta said the private sector has an important role in the economic development and prosperity of the province. He said cooperation between the government and private sector is necessary to build the province.

During the interaction, private sector entrepreneurs shared their views on the potential of the Far West as well as the problems and challenges they are facing. They emphasized that the provincial government should create an investment-friendly environment by facilitating policies for the development of the agriculture, industry and tourism sectors.

Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Prakash Rawal, Minister for Economic Affairs Chakra Bahadur Malla, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission Gokarna Prakash Bhatta and others were present on the occasion.
