Dhangadhi Bhalmansa committee submits demand letter to agriculture Minister Chaudhary on farmers’ issues

Dhangadhi: Dhangadhi Nagar Bhalmansa Committee has submitted a demand letter to Agriculture and Livestock Development and Forest and Environment Minister Geeta Chaudhary to address the problems faced by farmers in Kailali and Kanchanpur.

Committee Chairman Rohit Chaudhary, while handing over the demand letter on behalf of the farmers, has demanded timely provision of fertilizers and fuel at subsidized rates, provision of agricultural equipment at subsidized rates, assurance of purchase support for farmers’ produce, and proper storage arrangements. The committee has also drawn the government’s attention to the management of stray cattle.

Receiving the demand letter, Minister Chaudhary said the government is committed to resolving farmers’ problems. She stated that soil conditions are deteriorating due to excessive use of chemical fertilizers and informed that the government has initiated a soil testing program. She also expressed commitment to move forward with necessary policies and programs after studying and researching the use of barren land.
