Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi Flood: Four Youths from Kanchanpur Remain Missing for Two Weeks

Kathmandu: Four youths from Kanchanpur who were working at the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa have remained missing for two weeks following the severe Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi floods.

The missing youths are Padam Singh Saud, 43, of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-5, and Kalu Rana, 30, Rikesh Rana, 29, and Kreshan Rana, 23, of Krishnapur Municipality-3. All four are from Dekhtabhuli, Kanchanpur.

According to family sources, the four youths were sleeping in the morning after completing their night duty when the flood occurred. They have not been in contact with their families since the flood, and their whereabouts remain unknown even after two weeks.

Family members said none of the four has made contact with them. Pahal Thapa, Ward Chairman of Laljhadi-5, said the entire village is in mourning following the disappearance of the four youths.

He said the families of the missing youths are extremely worried as there has been no contact with them so far.

The families have urged the government, local administration and all concerned stakeholders to intensify the search for the missing youths and make their condition public.
