65-Year-Old Arrested in Kailali Over Alleged Sale of Dog Meat

Dhangadhi: A 65-year-old man has been arrested in Kailali on charges of selling and distributing meat alleged to be dog meat.

Police took Suresh Nepali, a resident of Godawari Municipality-2, into custody after receiving information that he had slaughtered a dog and was selling the meat for consumption.

According to the District Police Office, Kailali, a police team detained Nepali after receiving a tip-off regarding the sale and distribution of dog meat.

However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the confiscated meat is indeed from a dog or another animal. Police are preparing to send a sample of the meat to a laboratory for testing. Officials stated that the true source of the meat will only be revealed following laboratory analysis.

Nepali is currently being held at the Area Police Office, Malakheti. The District Police Office, Kailali, stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
